Extensive refurb of Hawkwell House completed!

In line with its plans for improving the quality and offering of its hotels within the UK market, Compass Hospitality has completed an extensive £400k refurbishment of the 4-star Hawkwell House Hotel in Iffley Village, Oxford.

The 5-month project was completed in Summer 2018, and saw the complete overhaul of the Hotels exterior, with a new entrance, new slate-roof conservatory as well as a remodeled open plan, spacious interior.

In addition to works to the main house, Elm House which is situated in the hotel grounds, had its 15 bedrooms individually designed and styled by Emma Barnes from Magna Designs. The rooms reflect themes of Oxford, including C.S Lewis, Radio Head and the Morris Minor.

Through using local designers, inspired by local artists and products, the hotel offers a ‘sense of place’ local to Oxford and in keeping with the character of the Country House Hotel.

Richard Jones, General Manager of Hawkwell House, says “The project was completed on time, on budget and highlights how our owners are investing into the property. We now offer our guests a higher-end product which is in keeping with our clienteles’ expectations of an Oxford Hotel”.
