Lake District Favourites Awarded Rosettes

Staff at North Lakes Hotel & Spa are celebrating after a glowing AA inspection this week.

The Penrith hotel retained its 4 star hotel status and was also awarded an AA Rosette for its restaurant.

General Manager, Antony Penny, said: “We’re all over the moon at the news. The hotel inspector was impressed with the hotel in every aspect, not just the physical things we've done, but particularly about the team and levels of hospitality.

“I’m so proud of everyone who works here, they provide the warmest of hospitality day in, day out but it’s always nice to have that recognised by an industry expert in this way.”
The hotel was recently boosted with the addition of family rooms and dog friendly rooms as part of a £300,000 refurbishment.

It’s not the only development for Thwaites, the company that owns the hotel. Earlier this year they re-opened The Crown Inn at Pooley Bridge, just a short drive from North Lakes Hotel & Spa.

The multi-million pound investment transformed the bar and dining area, and introduced a new first floor roof terrace and 17 guest bedrooms.

An AA inspector visited earlier this month and gave it its first official rating – a 4 star silver Inn accreditation.

It comes just weeks after the company’s other Lake District hotel, Langdale Chase in Windermere, received its first AA rating - a four star hotel AA rating and two AA Rosettes.
