New Edinburgh restaurant goes to print

The George Hotel in Edinburgh’s new town is formed from a number of interconnecting Georgian town houses, and is just a short walk away from Edinburgh Waverley Station. Its excellent location and its mix of restaurant, bars, bedrooms and suites, meeting rooms and event spaces make it one of the city’s most popular choices for meetings, events, conferences and training, with nine dedicated rooms that can be flexed for events for any number between two and 400 guests.

A multi-million pound investment in The George Hotel is currently underway and will result in an enhanced offer across all areas of the business: all of the bedrooms, suites and public areas are being renovated to designs by Goddard Littlefair, including the iconic King’s Hall. At the front of the hotel and due to open on 22 October, The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen is a brand new restaurant and bar, developed in partnership with renowned London restaurateur Des McDonald (ex-Ivy head chef and CEO of Caprice Holdings. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and diner, The Printing Press will serve fresh, seasonal, Scottish produce under the direction of Head Chef Colin Fleming and will include special set menus as an enhancement of the meetings and events offer at The George Hotel.
