Success for PH Hotels in Scotland

Two of Scotland’s finest four-star hotels were recognised at the 12th annual Scottish Hotel Awards, picking up no less than four accolades.

The glittering ceremony, held on Sunday 19th April at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, took on an extra sparkle for the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow and The Roxburghe in Edinburgh.

The team from Glasgow’s iconic Grand Central Hotel celebrated as Luke Simpson, Assistant Manager of the hotel’s Tempus Restaurant, was named this year’s Rising Star and Champagne Central was crowned Hotel Bar of the Year.

The hotel was also awarded the prestigious Gold Laurel Award for ongoing outstanding performance and investment, following its second multi-million pound refurbishment in just four years.

Their colleagues from the capital were also on a winning streak, with The Roxburghe’s Head Concierge Gavin Stirling being recognised as Concierge of the Year. His welcoming nature and unrivalled desire to go above and beyond for guests secured the accolade for the second year in a row. The hotel itself was also named regional winner of Business Hotel of the Year for Edinburgh and the Lothian’s.

PH Hotel’s Glasgow-based Revenue Manager, Lesley Reid, also picked up an award for Revenue Manager of the Year.

Laurie Nicol, Director of Operations – Scotland for PH Hotels, said: “We’re thrilled to have been recognised at the awards with not just one, but five wins under our belts.
“The teams at both hotels work exceptionally hard to set and maintain excellent standards across the board. The Grand Central’s recent refurbishment has proved very successful, and the hotel – as well as its Champagne Central bar and Tempus Restaurant – is going from strength to strength.

The Roxburghe has also been performing extremely well and this recognition is testament to that success.

“I’m very proud of Luke, Gavin and Lesley. Each team member is a very deserving winner and prides themselves on going above and beyond at every opportunity for colleagues and customers alike.”

Blythswood Square, sister hotel of both the Grand Central Hotel and The Roxburghe, were also shortlisted for Spa of the Year.
