A visit to Hotel Indigo Kensington14 Feb 2014

Visiting venues across the UK enables us to have a knowledgeable team who recommend and give advice based on first hand personal experience. Our blog is a great way for us to share those individual touches...

Arriving at Earls Court tube station, eager to reach my hotel, I feel relieved when my Satnav tells me I just have a few minutes’ walk to the Hotel Indigo Kensington. This boutique style hotel is tucked away in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and is surrounded by nearby restaurants.

I look up at Hotel Indigo as it blends into the rich heritage of the neighbourhood giving a sense of Victorian nostalgia, and as I walk through to the grand entrance hall it’s as if I've stepped back in time. The different communities brought together in Earl’s Court location are reflected heavily in the bedroom decor as they have a bright, quirky and modern theme all of which add to the unique style of the hotel.

As the night draws in and the soft fluffiness of the bed pillows hug around my head I know I will enjoy a good night sleep after familiarising myself with the complimentary Aveda products. I didn’t think there was anything else I needed until hot chocolate was brought to me in a flask with a Beatrix Potter book making my night complete. Having stayed in many hotels before, the extra little touches like the sweet smell of chocolate rising from my flask and the hardback feel of a traditional English novel in my hands at bedtime makes, a massive difference.

I always look forward to a hotel breakfast, it’s the one time you always forget you are on a diet and this one did not disappoint. Again it was the unique touches which added to the experience such as the newspaper style menu. I decided to resist the chocolate and vanilla waffles although they did look amazing and went for the eggs benedict instead.

The Hotel Indigo Kensington has left a lasting impression and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a one off corporate stay or a trip away with the family.
