Two Fat Ladies head to Troon

Iconic four-star Troon hotel, The Marine Hotel, has announced a partnership that will see the first restaurant by Glasgow institution, Two Fat Ladies, outside the city.

Best known for their intimate settings, high-quality produce and excellent customer service, the Two Fat Ladies brand, owned by well-known restaurateur Ryan James, was seen as the perfect partner for the 110-seat restaurant. The Marine Hotel, owned by Puma Hotels’ Collection, overlooks Royal Troon golf course and the stunning beach front, and has 89 bedrooms.

New restaurant manager and Troon local, Ashley Hardcastle, will head up a 20-strong team of skilled waiting staff. Fredrik Korallus, CEO of Puma Hotels’ Collection, owners of The Marine Hotel, commented: “We are inspired by Ryan James’ creativity and the dining experience at his restaurants reflects that of our hotel – comfortable, intimate and of high quality. The addition of the Two Fat Ladies will give locals and visitors alike a reason to return again and again to The Marine.”

Ryan James, proprietor of Two Fat Ladies, added: “We have been considering expanding for a while and the introduction of our first venue outside the city could not have found a better partner than Puma Hotels. The stunning setting at The Marine will be an idyllic backdrop to our menus. Those that already know us will be able to enjoy our experience at a new location, whilst those that are new to the Two Fat Ladies will find this the perfect introduction.”

Banqueting and events

In addition to the restaurant at The Marine Hotel, Two Fat Ladies will inspire the Marine’s banqueting and events menus, providing a unique experience for wedding and social event guests.

The hotel will also launch a special dinner, bed and breakfast package, to include a three course meal and an overnight stay. Prices start from £109 based on two people sharing between 23rd September to 22nd December 2013 only
