St. David’s Hotel & Spa scoops two honours at World Travel Awards

St. David’s Hotel & Spa in Cardiff, the only five star hotel in the Welsh capital, has been recognised as Wales’ Leading Business Hotel and Wales’ Leading Hotel at the European gala of the World Travel Awards held in Athens earlier this month.

Part of the PH Hotels collection, the 142-bedroom hotel complete with the award winning Marine Spa, overlooking Cardiff Bay, reigned victorious against properties including the Cardiff Marriott, Park Plaza Cardiff and Celtic Manor to clinch top spot across the two categories.

Speaking on the awards, Andreas Maszczyk, General Manager of St David’s Hotel & Spa, said: “I’m thrilled to have been recognised once again* in the awards. It’s an incredible achievement and a true reflection of the team’s efforts who work hard to ensure all our guests – both leisure and corporate – have the best stay possible in the Welsh capital.”

St David’s Hotel & Spa will now go forward to compete in the finals of the World Travel Awards in Marrakech this November, alongside the top hotels from the regional finals of the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean, South and Central America, North America and the Caribbean, and Asia and Australasia.

Hailed as the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’, the World Travel Awards aim to celebrate those organisations that are pushing the boundaries of industry excellence within tourism.
